In the Moment: Haiku Writing and Indoor Forest Bathing
Haiku poems capture vivid moments in very few words. This workshop offers participants the opportunity to learn about and practice writing contemporary haiku. Additionally, activities from the realm of forest bathing help participants slow down and tune into their senses, which assists with generating imagery and discovering “the haiku moment.”
The 90-minute class session will include haiku examples and discussion, exercises to practice juxtaposing images to create haiku, forest-bathing prompts, free-writing time, and optional sharing in the group. Open to all levels.
Participants will need to be able to sit or stand near a window and have a houseplant (or other natural object, such as a pinecone or rock) and a glass of drinking water nearby.
Registration is required, and space is limited. If the registration fee is problematic, email info@friendsofroethke.organd we will work with you.
