August 6, 2022 • OPEN HOUSE POETRY SLAM

$0.00
Sold Out

The community is invited to participate in the Open House Poetry Slam hosted by Jared Morningstar. Come and read some of your original poetry or a published poem (maybe one of Roethke’s), bring your friends and family, and support local writers! Prizes will be awarded at the end of the Slam.

Jared Morningstar teaches English at the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy and writing and literature classes at Saginaw Valley State University and Delta College. He writes poetry and short stories that reflect his interests and observations of the world around him. Morningstar has written three collections of poetry and short fiction (A Slice of American Pie, American Fries, and American Reality).

Register here to put your name on the list to read. Registration will help us with planning, but you may simply show up the night-of and we will add you to the list of readers. Arrive early to be sure you can get on the list!

Poetry should be suitable for a high school and older audience. The host will manage the reader queue, may limit reading times, and has final say over all aspects of the slam. If you have questions about participation, please email info@friendsofroethke.org.
